HomeThe term "Clearing House" meaning includes any agency that brings together seekers and providers of goods, services or information, thus matching demand with supply. The Clearing-House Mechanism (CHM) under the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) is an information sharing mechanism set up to promote and facilitate the scientific and technical cooperation in relation to the objectives of the Convention The Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) was signed by the international community during the Earth Summit, at Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) in 1992. The RMI Clearing House Mechanism (CHM) was established to promote and facilitate technical and scientific cooperation within Marshall Islands and among other countries, to join a globaly accessible mechanism for exchanging and integrating information on biodiversity and to develop the necessary human and technological network. The Clearing House mechanism seeks to support and promote co-operation in six key areas related to biodiversity:
