RMI Implementation
The Republic of Marshall Islands ratified the Convention on 8 October 1992. Responsibility for the RMI contribution to the Convention in the RMI lies with the Department for Environment Protection who promotes the integration of biodiversity into policies, projects and programmes within Government and beyond. Also in 2000 the Government launched the The Republic of the Marshall Islands Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan, a national strategy which identified broad activities for conservation work over the folowing years, and established fundamental principles for future biodiversity conservation.
Other relevant regulations, legislation and laws are revieved further in International legislation, Relevant Excerpts from The Convention on International Trade concerning Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (C.I.T.E.S.) and National legislation
